Job Description

The Role

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Operator Maintainer will:

  • Operate and monitor Orbost Gas Processing facilities, pipeline systems and any associated plant in accordance with procedures to meet KPI’s and contractual obligations.
  • Plan, organise and perform routine and unscheduled maintenance of gas processing facilities, pipeline systems and any associated plant in accordance with procedures to meet KPI’s and contractual obligations.
  • Undertake technical analysis and evaluations on plant performance diagnosing solutions to reoccurring problems, recommending modifications and improvements on plant performance to avoid plant failure.
  • Provide reliable data, plant histories and reports for analysis and review providing effective documentation for programmed and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Develop and maintain effective, supportive, and reliable communication and professional working relationships with field and office-based colleagues.
  • Manage the on-site Permit to Work System in accordance with Cooper Energy procedures.
  • Represent Cooper Energy in the local community.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are seeking candidates with a Mechanical or Instrument and Electrical trade qualification and significant experience in the oil and gas industry. Experience working with Major Hazard Facility regulations is preferred.

Other key attributes include:

  • Engineering knowledge and technical aptitude.
  • High degree of self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of Gas Processing Systems.
  • Knowledge of pressures, flows and distribution cause and effect, and basic instrumentation an advantage.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve mechanical / electrical plant issues.
  • Good computer literacy skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and methodical approach to work.
  • Able to supervise contractors as required.
  • Ability to work shift work.
