The Role
We are currently seeking a Project Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EI&C) Engineer to join our Melbourne team and lead critical projects that power our gas processing operations.

The Project EI&C Engineer will manage and support the delivery of electrical and instrumentation projects across our Orbost and Port Campbell gas plants. You’ll ensure the safe and efficient operation of EI&C systems while improving reliability, compliance and performance.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and supporting end-to-end delivery of EI&C projects, from design to execution
  • Leading upgrades and maintenance for LV/HV electrical systems, DCS, PLCs, SCADA and instrumentation
  • Troubleshooting and resolving system failures to improve reliability and performance
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian standards and hazardous area requirements
  • Working closely with site teams, OEMs, and contractors to deliver safe and efficient outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in automation, power distribution and plant control systems
  • Supporting HAZOPs, SIL assessments, and shutdown planning
  • Reviewing and developing technical documentation and scopes of work
  • Support Management of Change (MoC) processes and project risk assessments
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with safety, quality and performance expectations

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering
  • 7 plus years' EI&C experience in oil & gas, energy or heavy industry
  • RPEV (Electrical) registered
  • Strong background in control systems, hazardous area compliance and Ex-rated equipment
  • Proven experience delivering projects in complex operational and hazardous environments
  • Solid understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 60079
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Ability and willingness to travel to site
